Introduction

Agent Mac ("we", "our", or "the app") is a native macOS application that runs AI agents locally on your computer. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What Data We Collect

API Keys

Your AI provider API keys (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.) are stored exclusively in your macOS Keychain. They are never transmitted to our servers.

Conversations & Files

All conversations, agent actions, file contents, and shell command outputs stay on your Mac. We do not have access to any of your local data.

AI API Requests

When the agent runs, requests are sent directly from your Mac to your chosen AI provider (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI, or a local Ollama instance). These requests do not pass through our servers. Your AI provider's own privacy policy applies to those requests.

Analytics & Telemetry

We do not collect analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or usage data. The app makes no network requests to our servers during normal use.

What We Don't Collect

  • Personal information (name, email, address) — no account required
  • File contents or filesystem data
  • Shell command history or outputs
  • Browsing activity performed by the agent
  • Conversation history or prompts
  • System information or hardware identifiers
  • Location data

Third-Party AI Providers

Agent Mac connects directly to the AI providers you configure. Each provider has their own privacy policy that governs how they handle your API requests:

Local Data Storage

All app data is stored locally on your Mac in standard application support directories. You can delete all app data at any time by removing Agent Mac from your Applications folder and deleting its support files from ~/Library/Application Support/Agent Mac.

macOS Permissions

Agent Mac may request the following macOS permissions to function:

  • Accessibility — Required for the global keyboard shortcut (⌥Space) and system automation.
  • Full Disk Access — Optional. Needed if you want the agent to read/write files outside its sandbox.
  • Network — Required to communicate with AI provider APIs.

Children's Privacy

Agent Mac is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Since we don't collect email addresses, we recommend checking this page periodically.
